What is an NFC business card and what can you use it for?
A physical card in bank-card / ID format with an embedded NFC chip and QR code. Both contain the same web link, pointing to data you manage yourself — for example your contact details (vCard), website, Google Maps directions, review page or phone number. The recipient taps or scans, and your chosen action opens directly in the browser, no app required.
Can I change a card's data later?
Yes, within the same card type. There are 7 card types (vCard, website, Google Maps, phone call, WhatsApp, email and review) and the type itself is fixed because it's already printed on the card — a review card showing 5 stars, for example, can't be turned into a website card. The data within the type — the contact details on a vCard, the URL on a website card, the platform on a review card, and so on — you can update yourself from your dashboard. No reprint required — the card keeps working with the updated data.
How quickly will I receive my cards?
Once the design is approved, the cards are printed in the Netherlands and shipped via PostNL. Standard shipping typically arrives within a few business days; Express within the Netherlands usually the next business day before 12:00.
Does it work with every phone?
Practically all modern smartphones support NFC: iPhone XS and newer, and most Android devices from recent years. For older phones or when NFC is disabled, the QR code on the same card is always the fallback — it works on any phone with a camera.
What are the card dimensions?
The cards are standard credit card size (85 × 54 mm). They fit any wallet or cardholder and are thick enough for regular use without bending.
What if I lose my card?
You can deactivate any card at any time from your dashboard. After that the NFC tap or QR scan does nothing — no risk of someone reaching your details or directions via a lost card.
How does VAT and business invoicing work?
You automatically receive an invoice by email (PDF) after payment. Dutch business customers see 21% VAT on the invoice. For business customers in other EU countries we apply reverse charge VAT when a valid VAT number is supplied.
Do I get scan statistics?
Yes. Your dashboard shows the tap or scan count per card. That way you know which cards are actively used and can adjust the data if needed.
Do I need an internet connection to use the card?
Yes. The card uses a short web address to redirect to whatever you've set up. The phone tapping the card or scanning the QR code therefore needs a working internet connection (4G/5G or Wi-Fi) at that moment. In places without coverage — such as a basement or remote building — the redirect will not work. The QR code on the same card behaves identically and likewise requires internet.
How does LinkATap help reduce waste?
Our cards are reusable. You can update the data the card points to in your dashboard, so you do not need to reprint new cards every time your information changes.
